Fitness training is finally done. I will continue from now with what I have been doing for the past couple of weeks, just for general fitness, and to look good for when Summer comes;)

We have our final game of footy this weekend=( We will hopefully get a win, but it will be VERY hard with some of our top players out.. We wouldn't mind getting a bit of a crowd down, so if you want then you can come down to Marmion Reserve at 3:00 to see us play Melville.

You will still be able to see my results over Summer I guess, either at the beach, or at sport with school.. I guess we won't be speaking any more, so I'll leave you now with my final goodbye.

We got destroyed..

On the weekend we got absolutely slaughtered by the top team. In the first half it was like we weren't even there! It was just goal, after goal, after goal, for them. They probably got 15+ goals in the first half! In footy that is a crazy amount, and what a team would maybe get for a whole game. I think we did so bad that we did not even get a score over the first half.

The second half, our coaches told us to show some pride for our club, and not to drop our heads. We had nothing to lose, so we went out there and everyone started to go harder and we actually began to get some scores on the board. We kept them to a few goals per quarter, and it was looking much more of an even game, from there on in. Although they were still easily the better side that day.

It is our last game this coming weekend, and we really want to finish off on a good note. We want to get Melville's hopes down, by getting close to or even beating them, so they feel like they don't stand a chance in the finals. All our team wants to do right now is destroy another teams finals hopes. I know it might sound a bit mean, but we have no chance of making it, and the feeling of knowing you've hurt another teams confidence, and maybe ruined their finals chance is great=)

My workouts have actually been going alright lately. Yesterday I went with Rocky and Hoppy, and we got a fair bit done, although I'm not feeling much pain today from yesterdays efforts. My workouts are feeling a lot easier now, so I'll have to add some more weight, or increase reps.

There's only a couple more days left of my fitness program, so I will be finished letting you know about how I'm going very soon, and I will try continue at the rate I have been going, without being so lazy.. Talk soon, see ya.

Everyone has their bad days..

The carnival didn't go as well as planned.. My injury wasn't too bad, but my skills were. I just had a shocking day really..

The day started off pretty badly, with our bus being the only one to break down, and miss the first event. This probably put me in a bad mindset to begin with. My technique was shocking, which is a major aspect of the carnival.

After a couple of events I decided just to have some fun, and I can do the training if I want to make interschool for anything. Overall I had a lot of fun although not doing as well as i wanted. Sprints was probably the best, competing against all my mates and having a laugh=)

Right now my body is aching all over, and I am hurting pretty bad. After the carnival, a few other Winthrop boys and I had footy training, which was pretty easy, but the weather was bad and everyone was absolutely buggered. It started pouring down, and everyone let out a bit of a sigh. We decided to do some running, diving, and sliding marks, which made everyone forget about the bad weather. There weren't many people that rocked up to the training session, so everyone got a fair few goes.

We're versing a very tough team tomorrow in footy, and I'm not really in the mood at the moment. Hopefully I can rid my body of soreness, and have another good game. I am really wanting to take some more high fly's after last weeks game. It's always good to hear the crowd go wild=) This team is by far the best team in the competition, and I've made a bet with Jacob Hill that they will not beat us by over 10 goals.. I really hope our team can lift our game and take it to them.

I will continue my training and will try to get in to something at one of the schools' training sessions. Talk soon, Byeee.

Injuries..

Yesterday at school I hurt my foot pretty bad mucking around at lunch time. I'm hoping it's just bruised and will be better so i can compete tomorrow, but it was hurting reallyyy bad yesterday, and I could barely walk. Today it is feeling a lot better and I'm getting around much easier. I will ice it tonight, and hopefully it will be fully recovered by tomorrow. I will be pretty annoyed if I cannot compete to my full ability tomorrow, because I've been looking forward to the carnival for a while now.

The last few years I had been one of the smaller kids, which is a bit of a disadvantage, but now I have caught up to everyone else and have a much better chance in the events. The atmosphere at the carnival's always good. Everyone's always enjoying themselves, whether they actually compete or not, and it's good to have a bit of rivalry between forms, and friends.

I really hope my foot heals up by tomorrow, and the weather clears up as well..
I will let you in on how I go very shortly.

2 more days..

The past 2 days I've been to the gym with some mates. On Monday I went with Tom Smail and Jamie Glenister, and yesterday I went with Hoppy and Rocky. Monday we worked Shoulders and legs, while Tuesday we worked Chest and Triceps. I had to push it a bit harder on Monday 'cause Tom and Jamie are a fair bit bigger than me, so they're able to lift heavier weights, but I kept up with them so it was all good. Rocky and Hoppy haven't been going for very long and there's not much difference in size so we were all doing around the same weight, which worked really well.

I've got footy training tonight which I'm looking forward to, because it should be pretty relaxed and not too full on because the season is coming to an end.

At the end of each training session we do fines, which is where everyone says something stupid that someone else has done over the last couple of days and we decide how much money they have to pay for it. For example Ben pushed Hayesey into the pool at someones house, and everyone thought it was a bit harsh, so it cost him $5. All the money put in at the end will go towards a day of paintball, which will be sweet to put our coaches, and team mates in pain.

Theres only 2 more days until the athletics carnival, including today. I haven't been doing too much running, but I'm fairly fit so I should still go alright with the 800 metres on the day. The rain is meant to be clearing up on the friday so hopefully the weather isn't too bad.

I'll talk to you tomorrow about how training went, and what I'll be doing to get ready for the Carnival the next day.

On Friday night we trained with the other Bullcreek team because they were low on numbers. It went quite well and everyone got along better than I expected. We didn't train that hard, but skills were pretty good.

Our team can't make the finals so we are aiming to destroy some other teams finals hopes. On the weekend we played Willeton who are potentially a top 4 team, so we wanted to get a win on them. This is the team my old team beat in the grand final last year, so I personally had a few people that I was keen to take out. I got into a few little fights which was fun, but I didn't want to do anything to serious, because I didn't want to be suspended for the last 2 games of the season..

Everyone was going hard at the ball and playing pretty well, but we weren't playing to our full potential I don't think. We ended up losing the game by 2 goals, and were pretty happy with our efforts against a top side.

I took a few of the best marks I have ever taken in my life in that game. I literally got a guy in a headlock with my legs in one of them, and hurt him bad when he hit the ground awkwardly. The crowd went crazy with every mark I took, plus I had my own little fan base:) It was probably one of the best games I had ever played, and supposedly I got best on ground, which is a great feeling. Even though we lost, I went off the ground with my head held high, happy with the way our team had played today.

No one was truly upset about the loss, because we had nothing to lose. We cannot make the finals from the position we're in now. We have 2 more games to go, and they are against 2 of the top teams in the league. We will hopefully get a win against one of them, but the other will be very tough.

Thanks for listening,
Talk soon.

1 week away..

Hello again,

In one weeks time I will be competing for a place in the interschool team with our intra-school carnival being on this day. This year it is at the Perry Lakes stadium, which I'm really excited about because the stadium is so much better than some dodgy oval.. It has the proper tracks and equipment and everything.

Last year at interschool it felt so nice running on the real tracks instead of grass, but we also had special boots which made it feel more professional:) It's going to be much harder to make it into interschool this year because it is an open division, so I have to beat the year 12's as well to make it.. I want to make it this year so I can hopefully get my gold badge next year..

From now till next Friday I'm really gonna take my running and weights training up a notch. I'm gonna push my body to its limits, and rest up on the Thursday so I'm not worn out for the big day. I'm still lacking a bit of motivation, but hopefully i can force myself into doing some serious exercise.

Let you know how I'm going very soon,
Catchya.

First real run

Last night I went for a 20 minute run on my cross-trainer. There are four different styles of running that the man at the store where we bought it showed us. You can run in a squat position, with your legs constantly bent and body not upright, which is working your hammy's. You can run up-right on your toes to work your calves. You can also run backwards in the same squat position as before to work your quads. And you may also stand upright but use the arm movement to work your arms and core. I did 5 minutes of each without rest between. My legs were killing me after the run, but i wasn't toooo tired.. Then straight after I went into my ab workout which realllyy killed me! A nice hot shower afterwards made me more relaxed tho..

I was very happy with the way my workout went last night, and actually had the motivation to do it, so it all went well:)
Talk to you soon, Bye Bye.

The Mighty Bullcreek Leeming Sharks

Sunday afternoon was the big game. In the game that was before us, there were a few yellow cards given, so there was some paperwork to be done by the umpires which caused our game to start a fair bit later.. Our umpires were shocking even once they decided to turn up anyway, so everyone from both of the opposing teams were getting pretty impatient, and started to get pretty annoyed. The game eventually started, and by then I couldn't really be bothered playing.. But after a little while the game started getting rough and everyone was going in hard, so I started to get into it.

They started off really well, and were beating us straight up, but over time our team picked up our game, and we destroyed them:) There were a few little fights every now and again, but nothing too intense.. Some little asian kid started on me, and he was half my size so I couldn't help but laugh at him, because he was trying to act tough:P

Hoppy got handed a 5 metre kick and they counted it as 15 metres. He was like 5 metres out and kicked the goal which sucked a little.. But I got over it and we had a laugh. Over all it was a really fun game and it was good to see some old mates:) Was the most fun game of the season yet.. Well for me it was anyway. Our team played awesome.

My fitness training has been going fairly well. Today the gym was packed! So I didn't get much of a chance to get a full on workout.. Hopefully the conditions will be a bit better tomorrow.. And with my cork I was just trying to rest up from the Friday night for the game, so I didn't get much running done.. But other than that I have been going okay.

I'm going to go for a run now, so I will talk to you very soon:) Thanks for listening. Hope you guys are going well with what you are setting out to do.
